Re-did this for a client. She wanted just a pure white cabinet to fit into her grandkids playroom.

Old Dresser Redo!

Started out as this….

And took it to this….

Using #sherwinwilliams as a base paint and make a chalk paint – (peppercorn & requisite gray) to the dresser and then used tricorn black as the base for a glaze.

Have to try new things

Every week I have been pushing outside of my little box of comfort… Trying new paint combinations … ( yeah to the point of losing sleep – thinking about it ) , new painting techniques and new stains … Ahhh! I have to admit I’m liking it!

And I had to try this gel stain called Java… OMG – Amazing! It’s by General Finishes. I can’t wait to show you the piece I am finishing up.

Also trying out Milk paint this week on a old Hoosier… Can not wait!

Some people might have trouble deciding what color to dye their hair, what color shirt they should wear or what color tie and shoes… Me? NA! Up early this morning pondering g what color paint I should use on these fantastic pieces I picked up this past weekend!

Making pressed particle wood Lookin good!

Not a fan of the pressed particle wood… It actually encourages me to deposit in the burn pile almost immediately. BUT I couldn’t pass up practicing on a roll top… So here is before and after.

Everything has its purpose

Found this really cute little shoe shine kit… With the wax and brush in it… Maybe shoe shine kits have outdated themselves… I’m pretty sure my husband has never shined his shoes before. So now it’s an adorable little carrier of something amazing! Lol.

Bring new life to something old

Found these cuties sitting out for the trash… All musty and dirty. Pulled out my Murphys oil and wiped them down, sanded them a little, painted them, sanded them again and waxed them. Bam – adorable!

The most common question I’m asked….

Where do you find all your pickings?

“Lol – everywhere!” Seriously – curbs, trash ( yeah I look through people’s trash but only from afar… I don’t root. Mostly from the confines of my car. ) Auctions! Yes! I love them but “ADD” tends to set in and I get bored so I try to take a friend and go where it’s hopping. And my most favorite place to pick is my parents barn! They have lived their for over 40 years and have collected just about every type of antique. People through the years would give stuff to them or my Dad would pick up. My parents also went through a antiquing phase buying and selling. So I know already you got “Horder” on the brain… I guess I just painted that picture but really they are not at all. Every time I walk into the barn I find something buried. I will post some pics of my next adventure there.

2 things I picked from the barn recently was an old apple juice glass jug.. I remember drinking a lot of juice from these as a kid. So I figured I would chalk paint it to see what it looked like and I liked it. So now it sits on my mantle. Great memory piece!

And I found the fruit crate… I love these things. Had to clean it up and wax it, it turned out pretty good.
